I made a small wax of this pose many years ago, in the early 1980's. I love the way my Siberian Huskies curl up in a ball, their heads resting on a folded front foot, their noses hidden warm in their tails. I translated this idea into a figure of a wolf, no doubt modeled after Kiva, which was cast into bronze several years later.
