Scottish Deerhound puppies are no more exempt from wreaking swaths of toothy destruction than any other breed. I caught my young Lara (who arrived in 2001 in San Francisco on a calm, cloudless and sunny day from Germany the day before 9/11), destroying a newspaper, for which in the bronze, I substituted a priceless, ancient leather-bound book instead.
